The Indian cricket board (BCCI) is considering giving the go-ahead for Pakistani cricketers to play in next year’s IPL. BCCI sources said that the IPL governing council was also ready to discuss allowing Pakistani players in next year’s league. They also said the BCCI was open to a Pakistan tour of India – subject to clearance from the Indian government.
“The matter will be further deliberated with the teams and in the governing council, before getting approved in the working committee. Pakistan cricketers could a part of IPL. In future, their national team may also tour India,” a board source said
Meanwhile, former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ijaz Butt was quoted as saying that BCCI’s top officials have assured him that Pakistani cricketers would take part in the next edition of the IPL.
